About us

Ed4MedPrac is a principled company intent on developing ways forward in education in postgraduate medicine through writing, research, seminars and the development of collaborative groups. The dearth of truly educational resources for those who teach postgraduate medicine in the 21st Century is a driving force behind their endevours. The directors, Linda de Cossart, a Director of Medical Education and Della Fish a Professor of Education, believe that the development of professionalism and sound professional judgement lie at the heart of good medical practice. Their books Cultivating a Thinking Surgeon (2005) and Developing a Wise Doctor (2007) are key text for this and their work continues to evolve and grow. They are active in clinical practice and university work and their ideas are seated firmly in current medical practice where they believe the best opportunities for the education of postgraduate doctors are to be found. The development of clinical teachers able to seek out and utilise fully the learning opportunities in clinical practice is one of their key aims of the seminars and postgraduate courses they offer.
